Self-initiated project inspired by the 10,000 Year Clock project from the Long Now Foundation

An attempt to create a scalable clock that focuses on the passage of time rather than the momment. Time is divided into periods represented by polygons starting with a 10,000 year to a 1 second period. The number of edges for each polygon is the number of sub periods it contains. The edge is further divided into the number of periods that follows.

The image below shows how each polygon is divided. The time that has passed within each period is indicated by the lighter colors.

The system can be used to represent durations and dates as visual symbols.
